Installing

The first-launch prompt, explained.

The builds aren't code-signed yet, so each system asks you to confirm the first time. Here's exactly what you'll see and what to click.

The macOS “can't verify the developer” prompt

  1. 1The builds are not yet code-signed, so the first time you open HouseClock, macOS asks you to confirm.
  2. 2Move HouseClock to your Applications folder, then right-click (or Control-click) it and choose Open.
  3. 3A dialog appears with an Open button that the normal double-click doesn't show. Click it once.
  4. 4After that first launch it opens like any other app — you won't see the prompt again.

The Windows SmartScreen prompt

  1. 1Because the builds are not yet code-signed, Windows may show a blue “Windows protected your PC” screen.
  2. 2Click “More info”.
  3. 3Then click “Run anyway” to launch the installer.
  4. 4This is a one-time confirmation while the app is unsigned; nothing about your install is different afterward.
