Terms

The agreement for using HouseClock and this website. We've kept it plain, with no dense legalese to wade through.

Last updated: August 29, 2026

Using HouseClock

HouseClock is provided and licensed by Alexander Haroutiounian, trading as Hot Stack Poker (“Hot Stack Poker,” “we,” or “us”). By downloading or using HouseClock, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, don't use the app.

Your licence

HouseClock comes in four tiers: Home, Pro, Venue, and Enterprise. Hot Stack Poker grants you a non-exclusive licence to use the tier you hold. Home is free for private, non-commercial poker events such as home games and private club nights. Pro is a paid licence that adds features for private home games. Venue and Enterprise are paid commercial licences for card rooms and operators. Running games as part of a business requires a Venue or Enterprise licence.

Within your tier, you may:

  • Install and run it on the computers you use to run your events.
  • Use the features your tier includes, with no account.

We ask that you don't:

  • Resell the app or pass it off as your own product.
  • Attempt to remove or misrepresent its authorship or its licensing.
  • Use a free or home licence for commercial events that call for Venue or Enterprise.
  • Use it to break the law where you operate.

Subscriptions and renewals

Some tiers are billed as an annual subscription. Venue is $499 a year, and Pro offers an optional $39-a-year plan alongside its one-time licence. When you buy an annual plan:

  • It renews automatically on the anniversary of your purchase. That renewal date is shown at checkout and on your receipt.
  • We email you a reminder before each renewal, so a charge never arrives as a surprise.
  • You can cancel at any time from the same place you bought it, with no cancellation fee.
  • Cancelling takes effect at the end of the term you have already paid for. You keep the features until then, and you are not billed again.

The one-time Pro licence is not a subscription and never renews. Refunds are handled separately, under our Refunds policy.

No warranty

HouseClock is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We build it carefully and test it hard, including automated and randomized adversarial testing of the clock and the money, but no software is guaranteed to be free of errors.

You are responsible for the events you run on it. Before a payout is made or a result is final, confirm it the way you would with any tool. HouseClock is an instrument for the floor, not a substitute for the floor's judgment.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hot Stack Poker and the people who make HouseClock are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or this website, including any dispute over an event you ran.

Using this website

You may read and share this website freely. Please don't use its forms to send spam, abuse, or anything unlawful, and don't attempt to disrupt or overload it.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use HouseClock after a change means you accept the updated terms.
